So i have 2 Chinese fixtures 165 watt non dim i want to use one over my 29 cube. how can i figure out the height of the light and if iam receiving enough Par for SPS corals on the higher end and low light corals on the bottom? any help would be great.
Get a par meter. That's the only way. Nobody will ever be able to tell you what par readings you are going to have. Even if you have the same lights as them and same height of tank there are always factors that make every tank and situation different. Either get a par meter or use clues from your corals for help. If they are towards the brown side they might not be getting enough light. If they are fading they could be getting too much.
