I was looking at the upcoming RSM S series and was kind of disappointed that something that was such a huge long-term investment still used T5 lighting when LEDs are coming out. The RSM S series fixture is integrated onto the aquarium, so there's not exactly the possibility of using a different fixture.
I got thinking, surely there's such a thing as T5 tubes with LEDs in them that could be swapped in for the fluorescent tubes. Sure enough, they exist!

These are for office/retail lighting so aren't suitable for reefs, but it really gets you thinking about the possibility of making these LED retrofit tubes for use in aquarium fixtures.
Has anyone heard anything about these?
