I am setting up a 60"x24"x24" and was wanting LED's... What kind of setups would support a mixed reef with a some softies, LPS and SPS (mostly monticaps)... Anyone have experiences they can share?

4 or 5 kits (12 crees in a kit) would be plenty. your looking at 450-550 for the kits and a mount(heatsink) anywhere from 100-150 depending on the width.

id use the linear design of 2blues and 2 whites or for a bluer look 3 blues and 2 whites. more growth out of 3 whites and 2 blues. But I would prefer the 3/2 combo on dimmers for control.

should all be made for around 600 give or take

I have a 7 foot by 24 inches deep by 30 inches tall and I am using four ecotech radion lights. They are amazing. I have 250 pounds of tonga rock and its going to be a mixed tank with softies, clams, and sps. The lights are amazing. at peak of the day they are running at 75%. They are pricy initially at $750 a piece plus the mounting kit but they are well worth it. Definite thumbs up in my book for quality.

Heres 12 EcoTech Marine Radion LEDs on an 800 SPS tank:

Definitely looking at the Radions but man are they expensive... and only last 5 years?

@ Frogspawn, What is Cree? Where would you buy the kits? Do different LED's rate with different K's ie are the 3W better than 1W etc?

Thanks all for the input

I went with a diy set up from rapidled. The lights drivers and heat sinks ran me about $575. I used 60 leds over my 72x18x22 125g tank. I have softes, lps , clams , and sps in my tank. This is a older pic of my tank but its a good pic of the lights.
