Leds on 12x12?

So 7 1/2 gallons about... Traditionally for LEDs, I aim for 3 watts power per gallon... Now you have some choices to make, if you use 1 Watt LEDs, you'd need anywhere from 20-25, but if you use 3 watt LEDs you can get away with 7-8... If it were me, I would use 3 watt LEDs and I would use 9 of them in a 3x3 pattern with a 5:4 ratio of royal blue to white all with 90 degree optics...

Hope this helps!

my nano is 13.4"x13.4", currently using two cree 3w royal blue and two cree
5w cool white on a DIY fixture. Have a clam, two different kinds of acro's and assorted zoa's and whatnot. Will be upgrading soon with 8 more LEDS though :D

do yu have optics?

You could also look into a Par38 bulb. With the correct optics and height it would have no problem lighting a tank that size with a single bulb.
