I would like to know if this fixture will be okay for my 2.5 gal pico tank that has mainly zoas, candy cane, and mushrooms.

Marineland Led Aquarium Light 11"
42 white daylight led's
3 blue lunar led's
3 way switch give the option for just blues on at night
310 lumens

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone else have any input regarding this type of fixture for my little tank?

Anyone know how many hours these leds are good for?

I would suggest getting a par30 bulb for your 2.5g

I have the marineland reef capable lights on a 10g FOWLR tank. I would not suggest it for a reef tank as there is not alot of blue light to give the coral color.

I recently put some green / pink palyps in the tank to test it out, and it looks brown and bland under that light.

While those aren't bad little lights, I would not recommend it for what you are trying to do. Even though your little pico is only 2.5G, this particular LED light is only a 4.6 watt light, driving each of the LED lamps at 0.11 watts... that is not sufficient to keep any corals alive and healthy. The mushrooms "might" make it, the candy cane and zoanthids will falter.

Marineland specifically does not recommend this to support marine life... they don't even recommend it for keeping freshwater plants alive. For any of those needs, they direct people toward their "Reef Capable" line of lighting.

If staying under $100 is your goal, these options would be better:

Innovative Marine 8w light

Hydra Aquatics Retina I 8w LED light

If you are willing to spend a little more, there are many options.
