Lemonpeel Angel

Have a lemonpeel Angel for about a week. He was doing great when I first put him in and was very active, even during acclimation. Over the last 2 days he has been a lot less active and hanging out towards the bottom of the tank and under rocks. It looks like he is turning a shade of white or has white spots on him. All water parameters are in the normal line. I will attach a picture of him today. Any suggestions or cures? I do not want to lose him. I also have no other tank to move him to.

Are these little white spots all over his body and fins? Is he scratching, breathing heavy, eating ok? It's hard to tell from the pic but it could be brook or even velvet based on the timeline. You can read the stickies at the top of the forum for treatments. In which case you will need to put it into another tank to treat. You can use something like a Rubbermaid container. Do you have any other fish? If so they have been exposed and they will need to be treated as well. Was this angel quarantined?

Yes, they are all over his body but I cannot remember if they are on his fins. I am not sure about the scratching or breathing but he is not eating. Yes, I have other fish but none are showing any signs. The fish were not quarantined by me, but I am hoping they were before I bought them. I buy from liveaquaria

Since you didn't quarantine it there is a good chance that a disease has been introduced into your main tank. I don't trust anyone to quarantine a fish....cross contamination can happen so quickly and by accident.
In the event that the fish does have brook or velvet you will have to act very quickly. They are both extremely fast killers so you don't have much time. Do you have formalin on hand? If not Quick Cure will suffice and can be obtained from Walmart. Read the stickies on both diseases and you may want to google the images of both disease to help you can diagnose.

+1 To formalin bath, as that will provide temporary relief for both Brook & Velvet. If it's Brook, additional formalin baths will probably be required to completely knock it out. If it's Velvet, then the OP's only practical option may be to treat with copper. However, I feel compelled to mention that Chloroquine phosphate would be ideal in this situation being 1) this is a copper sensitive species & 2) CP treats both Brook & Velvet.
