lemonpeel angel

For the most part, they are reef safe. I dont have one but just a heads up...The Lemonpeel Angel should be kept in a tank of 50 gallons or larger (recommended), so it'll have ample room to roam. They will spend most of their day grazing algae that grows on live rock and I dont think a nano can provided enough algae for the little guy. It's not a good choice for a nano...IHMO

The Pygmy Angel is a better choice :) but it must be monitored for reef :( I know of several people who have the Pygmy Angel in there reef tanks with no issues.

Re: lemonpeel angel

The Lemonpeel is a notorious reef wrecker.
It's destructive nature is magnified in smaller aquariums and as the fish matures.

Yup , I tried and it was true.He is now in my very large sump. Its to nice looking of a fish to get rid of.

wow i'm so glad i didn't impulse buy, mostly thanks to my LFS marking it for 89.99

thank you for the respond guys,

I had one and he never bothered any of my corals but he hid all the time. He would come out whenever no one was in the room and he really was beautifull. I later jumped out of the tank and died but I wouldn't buy it again. By the way I got him at petco for 20.00

Pygmy cherub angels are perfect for any reef. Active, hardy, small, and don't bother anything. I have had one for two years. I have also had a Lemonpeel angel in the same 55 gal set-up. I cannot keep polyps (except GSP), Brain Coral, Gorgononians or Xenia because it pecks constantly at them and they won't open up. Therefore the coral in my tank is limited because of it. It's a beautiful fish, though, and luckily I have other tanks I can keep these corals in.
