Length of 36" T5 retro

I know it's funny that I'm asking for the length of a 36" retrofit, but I know the 24" and 48" retros are definitely a little shy of their measurements and am about 99% sure that the 36" ones are as well.

The reason I ask is because I'm building a hood for my frag tank for the set of LED's that I made. I am going to suspend it over the tank and want to know where to put the braces to hang it from. I want to space the braces so that I can mount a few 36" T5's from it without modifying the hood (assuming the LED experiment fails miserably).

So, I'm really looking for the distance between the screws on the retrofits, not actually the total length of the retro.

Any help would be appreciated.

36" represents the length of the fixture, not the bulbs. The bulbs are like 34 3/4" or something like that.

Brandon... if this fails as painfully as it is likely to I'll probably be looking in to them, but I most likely will not do it until after the frag swap. Since I have a pc fixture and it's only my frag tank, there isn't a huge rush for me.
