Leonid Meteor Shower

Decided that my friends and I were to lazy to head out to the desert east of san diego so we stayed in la jolla and trekked up MT. Soledad.

unusually there was no fog which made viewing oceanward great.

here are some results of 30 second exposures with my friends 5d. I accidentally left the lens stabilization on while it was mounted on a tripod. This caused many photos to have "shake" added to them. THe last photo here has it.

Very nice.

I went out last night and was dead set on capturing at least a couple meteors. Everything looks great. I set my iPhone to wake me up at prime viewing time and took a little nap. When I woke up, the whole bottom 1/3 of the sky was clouded over, the entire area where the leonid's show up was blocked.

I was irritated. I tried to salvage the night and get some star pictures but I dont even know how they turned out yet. I didnt get back until 3:00am and I have been at work since 6:00am, so I havent seen them.

Anyway, good job man. I hope my pictures turn out good although I'm sure none of my exposures captured a meteor which is a bummer.

Hmmmmm, I'm editing this post, my picture of the stars doesnt look near as good at a low resolution ;)
