Leopard Wrasse Disappeared?

Hi all,

I brought home two female leopard wrasses (meleagris) a few months ago. They were both eating well at the store, and ate well when I brought them home (rotating between mysis, Spectrum pellets, Formula One pellets, and blended raw seafood/algae). They went through a QT with hyposalinity treatment for ich as well as a PraziPro treatment. While in QT, one starting changing into a male.

They have been in the main display tank (150g) for a few weeks now, and have fattened up quite nicely. The "male" has almost completed the transition. Yesterday, the female disappeared. I'm completely stumped as to why. There is a canopy on the tank, and she's not in the overflow, filter sock, or the sump. She was fat and healthy the last time I saw her. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate are all 0.

Any ideas? The "male" wasn't picking on her, and there is nothing else in the tank (except a few hermit crabs, snails, corals, and a pair of harlequin shrimp.) Do they tend to hide for days even after they've been acclimated to a system?

:worried2:

Well... I purchased a filementos fairy wrasse, maybe? 3 -4 weeks ago... Havent seen it since it went into my display tank.

A Leopard Wrasse disappear for a couple of days? It's what they do! Seriously I wouldn't sweat a day or two.

i also had a leopard that went missing and found it later in the week behind the tank. I also had a black leopard wrasse that died and i found it stuck under a rock. check the back of the tank even with canopys they can end up carpet surfing, one thing with wrasses always make sure to have some type of cover. I use pond netting over my tank now to keep my loepards from jumping
