Leopard Wrasse Missing again.

So a couple weeks ago I bought the wrasse because both it was only 15 dollars and i had the LFS feed mysis which it gobbled up right away. I brought it home and put him in the qt tank and kept him there for about two weeks while I was transferring the contents of my old tank to my new one. Then last week I finally acclimated him and put him in the tank. He went straghit into the sand and was gone for about 3 or 4 days. Then yesterday I saw him but today he is gone again...Is this normal?? My other wrasses never went back into hiding once they emerged.

Other leopards or other wrasses? My experience with the former is that they are very twitchy when introduced to a new tank. Did you have sand in the QT? If so, did it bury? I think you need to just let things play out and don't go hunting for it.

IME this is normal...mine comes out for a day or two then hides for 3 to 4 days...weird but thats what he does...to each his own I say haha

haha, Yea I put a little sand in the qt and he hid in it most of the time... yea i'm not planning on looking for it in the sand bed.

they are other wrasses... melanarus and tri color fairy

...for only $15 I assume it's a Meleagris and it's normal behavior for some to stay out while others take longer to acclimate themselves to the new daylight time schedule....but it could also have been harassed by the Melanarus...

I believe it is a meleagris... Two days ago when it showed up the melanarus, fairy and leopard were all swimming together.. Didn't see any one get harassed but I guess it could have happened.
