Leopard wrasse not burying?

So I recently acquired a new vermiculate leopard wrasse from a lfs that had been eating frozen for about 6 weeks. I just put him in the tank and he is swimming around....he isn't diving to bury at all. Even in the bag he was swimming, not burying in the sand. Could there be anything wrong with him?

If the fish is not threatened or stressed it has not reason to bury itself. It should bury itself at night when the lights go out and should pop up again in the a.m.

I would suggest you get more familiar with the species, there is plenty of good information on here with regard to leopard wrasse care and behavior.

Good luck.

When I put my leopard in the tank he just cruised around for a while exploring. If he isn't threatened or frightened from the move to the new tank he'll probably just explore for a while before burrowing for the night. Probably a good sign that he isn't probably means he's less stressed out.
