lesions on mantel

I just recieved a new desarae clam from a sponsor. There are lesions in the mantel , circular holes where it is pink. Look like cold sores.

Should I send it back ?

I tried but my circa 2004 camera can't take a decent macro. They look like circular holes with pink flesh showing thru. The mantel is pinched in as well.

this isn't the best photo, but if you look at the mantle of the Derasa to the lower left you can see some clear circular spots. do they look like this?

no worries my friend:) thats normal for some derasas and gigas. there called iridophores

i would still like to see a photo of the clam anyway

OK, I guess they are too regular of a pattern to be disease. I imagine the mantle will extend as it gets used to my tank.
