Whoa, a little more information please! :D Does it stay in one place? Is it attached to the rock? Can you take it out & photograph it in a dish for a better view of the structures? Rght now I don't recognize it but maybe someone else will.

It moves around like most snails do. If I can get him, I'll try too. It's always in tight spots. Should I worrie about it?

I doubt it's anything bad. I can't make out all the features from that photo, but it may be an abalone. How big is it?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a snail, but the one in my avatar is a cowry, and I don't think yours is a cowry. The white stripe has me tripped up a bit. I can't think of any cowry with a stripe like that, and the shell looks too flattened anyway. It has the tentacles or pseudotentacles around the sides of the animal like an abalone, although some other animals that are related may have the same features (i.e., other Vetigastropods, like Stomatella species and some other trochids). You may have to catch it and photograph it in a dish with the animal withdrawn for me to give you a positive ID on it. If you can do that, I can just about guarantee you I can ID it though :)

Cheers,

Don
