Less Fish = Better?

I currently have only one fish in my 40 gallon tank which is a yellow stripped maroon clown. I plan on keeping this as an SPS tank. My question is does less fish equal better quality parameters and more stable? Anyone have any opinions on what my next fish should be? Thanks

to some degree. many people run fishless tanks, but if you intend to keep clams or anything like that they feed on the detritus and fish food.

the leftover food from feeding the fish, and the fish poo become dissolved organic compounds which help to feed algaes. macro and nuicance algaes alike. alot of peole say that some of thoes DOC's actually help to feed certain types of corlas.

Its irrelevent without talk about filtration by skimming. These are of course IMO's

Less fish, less filtration > More fish, Less filtration

Less fish, more of filtration < More fish, More filtration

Less Fish, Less filtration < More fish, More filtration
