Less likely to sting

Are there any anemones, other than bubble tips, that are less likely to sting me when I put my hand in the tank? Thank you so much for any suggestions.

I have a Seabae (Malu) and have never been stung by it. Not sure if this is the same for everyone but I have had it stick my my fingers and arm more than once without anything happening. Of course is sounds like some stings are more an allergic reaction. But thats just my experience with my Malu in 4 years

Sting or stick? I don't remember if I was ever "stung" by an anemone, but almost all are to some degree "sticky".

I think H. crispa is usually not a bad stinger.

But you should generally avoid touching anemones. And if you are sensitive you should wear gloves.

I bought a condy once, and it apparently painfully stung the LFS guy everywhere it touched him while he was taking it out of the display. Later when it was in my system I touched it a few times out of curiosity and couldn't feel a thing.

Unless you have severe reactions to things like these you shouldn't actually be coming into contact with the anemone itself often enough for it to be a concern in my mind.

Yes, my local reef guy was also stung quite badly by a condy. I'm allergic to insect bites and it seems if something stings or bites it nails me. I've been okay, so far, with bubble tip anemones and a ritteri anemone. I just want to try and play it as safe as possible. I've been stung by frog spawn, which was not pleasant at all. From my understanding you're more likely to be stung on the soft parts of your hands and arms (the bottom of your arm vs the top), so that might be why you weren't stung. I might have to get gloves if the sea anemone nails me. The frog spawn only got me once on the back of a finger where I had a raw spot. Was like getting hit with a live wire. I also keep benadryl on hand just in case.
Also, I was noticing how some anemones will even sting other anemones. Is it best to only have one kind in each system? Or is it more a matter of space? I was thinking about a carpet anemone until I read up they may sting and damage the bubble tips.
