Yesterday I was doing a water change and I knocked over my gigantic anchor coral.Well what else do you do but hurry up and reach in there and put it back.Well I forgot I had a small cut on the inside of my right ring finger. As soon as I touched the coral......BAM! The pain shot up my arm like nobodys business.
It finally went away and I took a nap.
When I woke up my finger was swollen to about twice its size and I could barley bend it.And it was sore as heck.
As of this morning its still stiff but not as sore and the swelling is less.
I will not do that again!

so the coral stung you? why would having a cut finger cause it to sting? I have heard you can get infections from putting your hands in a tank with a cut finger, but did not know the corals where waiting for a chance to take you out when they see you are weak..lol

Well, the best thing to do is drop off the bad coral at my house on the way to the doctor. That will ensure it will never happen again....let me look at your tank again, there may be others that would look good in my......err..others that may not be safe in your tank.

The cut opens up a pathway for the toxin to get into the blood I suppose.
Yes Id heard about the infections too , thanks for reminding me lol.
You can have the bugger for 100.00.Its a volleyball sized anchor (euphyllia).I was planning on selling it anyway.(Maybe it found that out!)
