yup - the Airfare even living in Anchorage is nearly as much as it costs me to go back home to NY! Insane.. there was one supossedly in NY hanging out at the local beach but I never did see it. That was eons ago too so I wouldn't of had a long enough tele to get a good shot anyway. Lucky and amazing for you to have the experience. Seeing the Polar bears was unreal for me so I imagine the owl was similar.
