My new scoly's that I just won on aquatic auction and at a steal also!! I only wanted to buy one scoly but i ended up getting two for the price of one!! Cant wait till they come.

I was reading some where and some one said that scolys max out at like 3 inches. Is this true?? or can they get larger?

No, they can get larger than that... also, every "scoly" in this thread is a Scolymia vitiensis... keep in mind that different species of Scolymia will atain different sizes

according to Veron both S vitiensis and S. australis (the two species generally found in the hobby) stay less then 60mm

also he notes that both species are capable of forming colonies but is more rare then the solitary form
i have seen colonies of 2 - 4 a couple times already so they are available but what would be really cool is if/when someone has one divide in their tank - problem is that they may be like fungia types that only form new colonies after nearly losing them
