and 1/2 a dozen Chromis!

Hey, that looks pretty sweet. Rock makes me a little nervous though. Some of them just look a little precariously positioned up there...I dunno. They look like if they fell forward they'd just keep right on going through the front pane of your tank. Are they really stable up there?

i admit they look precarius, but i can't wiggle them unless i really start rocking them.
i have followed all the advice i've gotten on here so far, so i will continue to do so. i'll order some of that putty stuff to cement them together. umm anyone remember what it's called?

thanks!
jxmetal gracious gave me a kenya tree, some green star polyps and a xenia bunch.
i want to keep some softies, i'd like to try an anenome. i like ones that wave in the water.

for my fish list: (i am totally totally welcoming suggestions)
1-2 yellow tang(s)
1 sailfin tang. (i really liked fade32s)
2 false perc clowns
1 coral beauty
couple blennies

and then i'm kinda stumped. i'm enjoying the chromies a lot more then i expected to, so i might just make the school bigger.
but i've got lots of swimming room side to side, so i'm open to suggestions!

I love sailfins too, but was hesitant to put one in my 4 ft tank. Rest of the fish list sounds good too. You could consider some lyretail anthias. I love mine, love the colors. Loved my carpenter's wrasse too until he went missing. Foxface could be helpful down the line.

I had a feeling you were going to go back in there and get the chromis.

I was leaving the lot and you were walking back in the store.

I decided against getting one...at least for now. My tank consists of a foxface, ocellaris clown, one chromis, one male and two female lyretail anthias, and one scopas tang. Have one cherub angel in QT about to undergo hypo for possible ich before it goes to the display. MIA's since the start of the tank on New Year's Day of this year are the carpenter's wrasse and cleaner shrimp. Have no idea what happened to either one of them.

You'll have to let me know how the chromis are doing in a few weeks. I really want to get some for my 90 gallon, but people keep telling me stories about how they kill each other off one by one.
The tank looks great.... i really like the rocks! Where did you get them?

i like the scopas tang as well...
this will be a tough decision!

amy: i haven't heard anything like that, i'll be sure to keep the board updated though.
i bought 50-80ish lbs of liverock from darksilenttype here on the board. gave me a great price!
i got 180lbs from hirocks.com.
150ish lbs of large plain peices and 30lbs of small plain peices.
a lot of it is buried in my tank to make a stable foundation for the rock pile.
the shipping was pretty slow from hirocks.com.
it was super cheap though. if i had to do it again i might have opted for the "best" from them instead. as the peices i got were in fact large and very plain.

chromis will kill each other till there is one ,my brother inlaw had 12 and slowly went to one same with my parents.

well that sucks!
i got 6.
i saw only 5 this morning. i assumed the 6th was still asleep or hiding.
perhaps he's crab food...

mine are all little guys.. hopefully they grow up to be peaceful.

ya he did... dead in the filter pad. :(

during the transfer from freshwater dip to tank one of them jumped out of the freshwater bowl and landed on the ground. i think he got brain damage or something. he wasn't swimming quite right. i'm assuming thats the one that died.
but maybe he was murdered! DUN DUN DUUUNNN!
the remaining 5 were doing just fine this morning.

the green star polyps opened! the xenia seems to be doing fine.
the kenya tree doesn't seem to be extending much at all. i've got him up near the top in moderate water flow. any suggestions?

Why did you do a fresh water dip ? Did you buy them with parasites IMO fresh water dips is the last resort in treating a fish I think it stresses them out more then helps.
