Let's Get URI to Make T5's...!!!

O'man, O'man, O'man... It is a good day to be a T-5 user. I just confirmed through one of the top people at URI that they have a T-5 in production and it will absolutly blow your socks off. They say it even out performs thier VHO bulb and that it has exceeded all of thier expectations. URI expects the bulb barring any big problems to be out within the next 2 months. Let's give a great big Hip Hip Hooray for URI.:bounce1:
 
They are going to have to go a ways to beat Helios Suberblue IMO. The longer I run them the more impressed I am. We will see what URI can design.
 
someone's gonna have to do side by side comparisons with VHO, b/c ive heard of this hype thing before- ex. starwars espisode 1 :D
 
Conversely, I'd like to see ATI make VHO. My absolute favorite fluorescent bulb I've ever run is their Blue Plus (in combo with MH). The only think I felt they lacked was the overall coverage that URI bulbs give.
 
Watt for watt the T5 puts out more PAR than the VHO. If you aren't already add a couple of parabolic reflectors to the blueplus lamps. It is amazing how much they help.
 
On another website I was talking with someone who says both are really the way to go. BP spike like a Radium. VHO URI spike lower. He has one of the best SPS tanks I've ever seen (invincible).

I will be running both over my 150.

As a T5 user I am pretty interested to see some new bulbs... I personally like my tank as it stands now and I just bought a full set of T5 bulbs. So I guess I will let you guys be the guinue pigs when they come out :P.
 
according to gregg at uvi the 24watt and 54watt t5 ho super actinic both with built-in relector design and without will be available in january. test bulbs have been shipped to uvi hq and pending they test to spec we will see them then. "pricing competitive with competition" "variety of unique features noone else has" are the two staements he would not elaborate on, though.
 
Nope, though alot of people are sure asking about them. I have not even heard a real confirmation that they exist. Some people claim to know first hand but no pictures, no nothing has come out to my knowledge. If they come out, I hope they come out soon because I am approaching the end of the life of my acntinics.
