Lets NOT have the July meeting 25 or 26

Just wanted to say to all members that, if you are out and about on Saturday or Sunday July 25th or 26th, perhaps you will want to stop by THAT FISH PLACE/THAT PET PLACE. Not only are they going to be having their Summer Splash sale, but to the right of the building, in the field that TFP owns, Keystone DockDogs will have a large 40' pool set up and we will be running dock jumping competitions. So it would be a great time to do your shopping at TFP, so TFP has a good sales weekend, because I am the one who originally asked TFP to sponsor an dock jumping competition and I don't want them to regret their decision.

Its bad enough that the Board of our DockDogs club has decided to be mean jerks and has shut me out from helping further organize the event.

So come out to That Fish Place July 25 or 26 and you can meet our Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Coleman, and see him compete in DockDogs!

You can bring your dog and compete as well!

I will try to make it one of those days, you'll have to talk to Pat as to when the meeting will be, I think he is having the next one, outside picnic. Have a good weekend Emily.

CODORUS SUMMER BLAST JUNE 26-28

Laugh all you want... we will be jumping dogs into the lake all weekend (as if reefing is incredibly cool or something, please!) :rolleye1:

Just in case one of you wants to bring your dog out to try it out, we are apparently holding practices at Codorus (at the main launch, near the bandshell) all this week (this week, as in starting today, Monday June 22, 2009 10am-noon and 6pm-8pm, then Tuesday 6pm-8pm, Wed 10am-noon, and Thurs 5pm-7pm.)

The event at Codorus starts at 3pm Friday June 26 and runs until Sunday 28th. There will be vendors (food, craft, entertainment) all weekend, and Saturday evening there will be fireworks (don't worry, the group I am a part of isn't the one setting those things off.) Saturday there is a per car fee of a few dollars. We are jumping dogs all day. And for part of Saturday I get to sit in the "middle" of the lake, with a radar gun, clocking dogs.

'course, this kind of reefing doesn't get Seth Rogen running by you (although I can think of another kind that could)

The first person he runs by outside is our friend Alisa.

The one above shows the GSP that I was telling you about, 2turtles. Rob is a really nice guy. It also has Alisa's dog that was on Letterman. And Forest Gumppy (who Seth also ran by.) Gumppy died earlier this year of canine cancer. :(

So, after being kicked out of the club, they promptly deleted Coleman's profile on the webpage...

But we rose above it and Coleman jumped yesterday -- 19' even -- winning the Senior division (which is from 15'00" to 19'11") We are hopeful that he will make it into the Senior finals on Sunday with that score (they take the top six dogs who jumped in the Division for that Division's finals.)

Because it would be pretty sweet to win after being kicked to the curb!

It was very nice to see Joel and family yesterday. Perhaps we will run into some others on Sunday if we make the finals.

Sorry Steve. "Normally" I would have been there from 9am to 9pm, but.... We may be there tomorrow afternoon, should Coleman make the finals.

Congrats Emily!!! What a slap across the face to them, lol :) Very glad to hear that you went for it despite the situation. What breed is Coleman?

We might stop by again today depending what we have up later. good luck!

Coleman is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He is 21 months old and not as nicely filled out as our 12 year old Chessie. Its a breed I'd recommend only for the insane.

Your Brittany is a cutie! I know they are a field dog, but I am surprised that we don't see more (any) at DockDog events.

Thanks to everyone who checked out this event and/or the one down at Codorus. I find it very thoughtful that my reef buddies would check this out, while my fellow DockDog Club members kick us to the curb! :)

Emily, sorry I did not make to the event, I have been laid up the past 3 days with my back being out, Darin can attest to it, I didn't forget, just am kind of crippled at the moment. I am glad some others were able to come out and support you. Have a good one, talk to you soon.
Matt

No problem, sorry to hear about your back. Hey, that people just showed interest when I said we were kicked out -- that was a nice change from the "watch what you say" attitude of before.
