I'm looking for some ideas on how to do a picture frame around my tank. I'm thinking using a wood molding.. and i have all the tools to do my own trim with routes and saws ..etc.. but i find no inspiration.
I've also used the search tool.. but to no avail.
so i'm looking for some pictures of in-wall setups with some kind of picture frame in the front.

If I may suggest, go to a art gallery, and look at frames, once you find one you like go from there

the size of your tank will have to match the widht of your frame, but is an Individual taste, so as long as you like it, thats all it counts

good luck

I cannot take credit for this tank, as it belongs to SERVO.

Not only do I like his molding/trimwork, but he has the top portion mounted on a piano hinge for easy front access.

Notice the similarities to mine? He He. Ryan (aka SERVO) is a good buddy of mine so I basically copied his down to the piano hinge! Having front access is very nice. You don't need it often but you need it when you need it!

Very impressive guys !
I think i got a good idea on what I want. I specially like those big moldings.. but also like that wood trim.. they all look great ! thx again

my tank has the wall out a little more than the tank so when i put the moulding around it i used a seal between the tank and the wall to seal it also so no humidity came back into the room from my fish room.

Where did you (either of you :)) get the crown molding and other trim pieces ?
