That clam is in the center of the tank and first time I was looking at the tank close I moved my eyes to this spot and was trying to see what is that and realized is inside the clam. I have seen clowns go in the clam in a few tanks and first clams don't like it but after a while they don't care and clowns sleep in there. I need to take a picture to share too.
Well I just LOVE that! I want a big 'ol clam now so I can have such fun here. Let me see your shots zooqi too when you get them. (my clam died..pygmy angels I think, or crab)
Here is a picture of one and I can probably get few more sometimes next week.
Forgot to say that those clowns are brothers and sister of the one that Sanjay has. They are the babies from Sanjay and are in Mike Mussina's aquarium.
Willie_6: yes I know few of them and as for Mussina I know his family and his wife's family too. Very nice people and they have been good support and help with community and education.
Avansickle, no that is not a problem and most of the tank raised clownfish that you buy at stores are from the same batch if they are from local breeders but if they are from big breeders they might not be brothers and sisters.
What's with the clowns getting in the clam? Are they trying to host? I have an ocellaris myself and would love for it to host in something. [/B][/QUOTE]
They swim in there and out. First everytime they went in there the clam would close and shoot them out and now clam won't care even if they sleep in there. They come out and sit on the the lips and I think that is a reason why some clowns lay eggs on clams too. It is neat thing to watch and have not seen it before. I don't know what kind of training Sanjay gave those clowns but is interesting to watch them do that.
Buddy of mine on here Juangil75 had a clown that hosted his clam when his mate died. It was almost sad looking. He got a new clown and now they host the anemone. Was Really cool watching the clam do nothing.
How about some video of the clowny clams? If you guys can get some, post them on the Home Reef Video thread that is stickied under reef discussions. Folks would love to see!!
