Hey Johnny, it took me awhile to get some new batteries. Here's the latest and greatest.

This is when the shrooms were shriveled yesterday.

Here's a couple closer ups of the kenya and that other one I can't remember what it's called. The Kenya has fragged itself 6 times and the frags are growing fast.

I know there's some algae along the bottom of the tank, but I have a hard time with the magfloat picking up sand and scratching the crud out of the glass.

I just got myself a 250w MH lamp-a really cool Sunlight Supply unit. I'll be placing it over the tank tomorrow. The Acorpa, I think it is called at the very top hasn't changed for the better or the worse sine I bought it from cerretta with the mushrooms. I wonder if the MH light will perk it up? Anyway, this Friday Evening or Sat/Sun, if anyone has more coral frags for sale, I'm in the market and can drive up to Tucson.

wow that looks very good!! i like the green zoo's (grown a lot i can see that!), and the xenia look good spread out!

the coral next to the kenya tree is the blue xenia. wow that has grown a ton!! it looks really blue in your tank-i like it!

well once you get the new light on, let me know, i got some purple cap, clove ployps, mushroom, and green star ployps if you want to get them.

Sounds good. I'm thinking I should hang the MH quite a ways up off the water so I don't burn anything at first. I noticed when I took one of the 2 blue actynic out and replace it with a 54w HO t5 bulb, it burned and killed some of the coraline on the LR at the top. If you're available this weekend, let me know. I really wanted to buy some of that stuff a week ago, but I couldn't get up there. Your tank looks killer. The variety and color is freakin sweet. After seeing your tanks, other tanks, like mine aren't quite so cool. You have a fantastic bunch of tanks.

yeah thats def a good idea to hang the MH up and lower like every other day. i wont be free this weekend, im leaving for vegas but anytime before friday night would work. Sorry. well let me know john

Here is an update on mine... I am 1/2 way between the Phoenix area and Tucson so can post in both haha.

After deciding to get rid of the home nano, it was only three days before having sever withdraw symptoms. The plan is still to convert that tank to a FW system. However, I had a bunch of left over equipment. . . in fact, it was enough to start a PICO system. Imagine that. The wife was not that surprised. She is getting used to it.

The real dilemma came when deciding what to do with all the clutter corals in . . . da Artsy Cube. The thought of selling that stuff was heart breaking. So, I decided to put together a Pico system.

I have been wanting to build a < 5 gallon Pico tank for quite some time. For the past year, I have been searching for some sort of unusual tank for the project. Well, I was cruising through Costco last week and spotted a glass pedestal candle holder. Instantly my mind was spinning.

So here it is . . . da Costco Pico

Some left over paint, I love this color. It accents the purple wall of the den. Ah . . . life is color. I removed the pole from the Solana Orb system and mounted the Orb to the ceiling. The pole has a fixed bend with adjustable height, but the position the lamp hangs out from the wall is fixed at about 20”. It would stick out too far into the room and not be over the center of the tank. I thought about cutting the pole length, but I did not want to ruin the pole. I may use it for a bigger tank in the future.

Because of cats, there was some fear about the tank taking a tumble. I love the design of the powder coated stand having a brace up top that keep the tank from falling out. To add security, the black board seen in this photo is anchored to the wall. The tank was leveled then secured. It won’t be going anywhere. The sides are left open for easy access.
