I have moved to a new place and am upgrading to a 75g reef.Im planning to get a 8x54w t-5 HO retro or fixture. Please post up some pics of t-5 lit tanks, and if possible something in the 75g range.
thanks

This is my 46gal. with 4 39watt t5's. Its no where near a 75gal but it may help.

Since you asked. Pic is a few months old, really need to update.

It's a 65g with 4 39w's. It's a Nova fixture so all the bulbs share the same reflector too. So far so good.

65G, Aquactinics TX5. Sorry for the photo quality and the front glass needs a good cleaning.

I'm having trouble with photobucket. If this one doesn't work - sorry. Suffice to say I have a 65G with Aquactinic TX5 lighting.

Here's mine: 200g pentagon (acrylic) with:
2 X 24w T5
2 X 39w T5
4 X 54w T5
2 X 95w VHO (URI SA)

*Edit: I'm overdriving with 2 X 660 IC ballasts, using IC SLR reflectors, and lights are 6" from water surface...

Oh, and for reference, that dussumeiri tang in the front is about 8.5"

I downgraded and most of my corals lost color, but they are recovering now and some are showing better and new colors under the t5s, that they didn't not have under MH.

I'll post also a picture of my planted tank under MH.

Here is my nano tank, t5's as well. I'm actually getting ready to double the t5 fixture as i want more light.

Um, I'm confused, are you promoting T-5 or discouraging them. (first you say your reef is doing better under T5's, then you show us a picture of your MH planted?)

I love my T5's. I was just showing my planted tank and letting you know that I use MH on that one.

I'm not against neither. IN this hobby you can get results through different routes, and you use what ever works for you and pleases your eyes the most.
You'll always find pros and cons on most of the equipment.
