Lets see them tanks

I've been tinkering with my 45 Tech Tank a tiny bit. Hung the 250w halide pendant, removed my sump and plumbed a chiller on a closed loop in it's place, moved my skimmer to my overflow box, hooked up a 2 little fishies reactor with carbon, and added a clean up crew. The reactor will eventually get plumbed inline with the chiller below the display. And for your viewing pleasure... a few pics

My brother in law has a '68 and a '69, both tubbed out and he runs them at the track. The '68 pushes just over 1,000 h.p. w/o juice.

That red stuff is some type of algae. It's funny. I've had those rocks for well over ten years (maybe fifteen), and when I got the 250 watt halides and placed them under that light, this red stuff popped up. You can also see a ball of purple algae growing from another rock on the mid-left side of the tank. I don't know what type that is either. Anyway, my wife likes it and I do too, so I've left it there. It doesn't seem to be growing much since I started running Rowaphos.

Probably some type of gracillaria or halimeda. My tang loves it, so it never really grows anywhere but the fuge and frag tank..

What type of tang do you have, that eats the red algae?

Hawaiian Yellow Tang.. It eats any macro algae it can fit in it's mouth.

My 'lil 3 gallon. It's about a week old. Diatoms suck! Took all of 2 days to cycle..gotta love live rock.

Doesn't take much to cycle a 3 gallon tank with like 2 1/4 gallons of water. 3.5 lbs of LR took 2 days. Started adding Livestock after 4. Still yet to spike anything. Everything except the diatoms are fine.

I'll have some pics coming sometime in the near future of mine. I'm contiplating starting over. It's going to be a long weekend when it happens. Everything is coming out. I'm searching for some base rock right now that I like (want some shelves and caves). I'm also trying to get in touch with Brown's Glass in York to see if they could make me a sump. I've got a 26 gallon right now, but want bigger...for better stuff. I just got rid of my PC lights and went with the Nova Extreem Pro HO T5's. Diatoms out the wazoo right now.
Until I start the rebuild.

Here's what Turbonegro and I did in my basement last week. The tank in the foreground is the main tank, its 150 gallons. The smaller tank is a 100 gallon tank that will act as the sump. The return pump is a Reeflo Dart.

I still have lots of work to do it. (I'm setting up the ATO as we speak.)
