I have two 14k Hamiltons, one on a evc eballast and the other on an Ice cap e ballast. The evc ballast's bulb is way more bluer than the Icecaps. Ill try to get a pic later.

Ok in the pic at the bottom, the hami on the left is on an Evc E-ballast, the hami on the right is on the Ice-cap e-ballast. Their is hardly any blue at all when run on the Icecap.

Thanks for the pics! I bought a Retro kit off ebay. I have dual 250w's (Advantech M58 ballasts) and dual 110w VHO's ...I should have probably pieced my own lighting system together. Oh well. Live and Learn, unfortunately. We'll see how they look when I get the bulbs. The EuroReef 10k's (?) Have a yellowish/whitish look to them. Im hoping the Ham 14k's will look Whitish/blue.
Oh... have I told any of you that I am completely addicted? Totally. I'm at the point where I can't see dollar signs or prices. For some reason, when its related to Reefing... I just hand over the little, rectangular plastic thingy in my wallet. I get it handed back to me along with whatever items I wanted. Its that easy!
keep them coming, I just ordered 2x250 watt 14k Hmailtons from hellolights.com and go them for $49.99 each because they matched the price of fishsupply.com's sale on Hamilton's! better stock up!
Sindjin - are you sure your M58 ballasts won't fire the AquaConnect bulbs ? The reason I ask is because Sanjay's site shows specs with this bulb running on a M58 ballast. (I have them, but run IceCap ballasts)
I was told by the owner of a LFS. (Fish and Other Ichthy things) that because they are PROBE firing and not PULSE firing, that they may or may not emit what Im looking for and the life of the bulb could be shortened to like 6 months.
