Has yours shown the desire to eat prepared foods? or just live pods? I have a friend with a very pretty mandarin who eats frozen stuff like it was going out of style. But i understand that is a rare thing.

Thanks! Yes 5 yrs and counting. I have no idea on their lifespan.

Yes he loves frozen brine shrimp. He stays very fat, he is a big guy too.

Heres an old picture of mine. I had him for a little over a year. He was the only fish I lost in my power outage. Some time down the line I will get another one.

How hard are these guys to actually keep alive? I just saw a few yesterday at my lfs and was told not to get one unless I had a large tank with a good supply of pods. I wanted to try and put one in either my 12g or 24g and hopefully train it to eat prepared food.

How long has your system been going?

My 24g with 3g fuge has been running since beginning of june and my 12g has been up for a little over 2 months. Both tanks have a nice supply of pods but obviously I doubt they can keep up supplying enough for a Mandrian.

Nevermind on my question, I've decided to avoid purchasing one. From what everyone says a 24g is to small.

I have a spotted in my 10 gallon and it loves frozen brine too I've had it for about three months now and it is the only fish.
