Lets See Those Purples Tangs Pics

Hi everyone,
I have just started this thread so that more people can pick up some info on these great fish. So lets hear all of your great info, and see those awesome pictures.

i was wondering if anyone has any pictures of their purple tangs. I am thinking of getting one.

They are both around 4-5 inches and nearly 1" fat.

jda how long have you had them? I am gathering info to try and start a tang breeding project. do they spend a lot of time together or just some?

They spend most of their time together. I have had one of them for 2 years or more and the other for 6-12 months.

I have a purple tang myself but her butt will not sit still long enough to take pics hehe soon as I get some I will post them NICE PICS ALL I love my purple tang she is huge

Are your tangs really that purple or is it the flash that makes them seem brighter? When I see them in the LFS they are so dark in color and do not appear so purple. Just curious.

They almost look blue in those pics.

From what I understand, purple tangs from the Red Sea have better color than other indo-pacific reefs. Most of the ones I see at the LFSs are darker than the one I posted (which is from the Red Sea). In a closeup with bright lighting or a flash, they do appear blue with dark lines/spots. From a distance, they're definitely purple though.
