Is that an undulated trigger? It doesnt look quite right for that, but I cant quite place why.

Yep, it's a mature male, females/juvies have lines under the eye too (green area on bottom left), that's probably why you are thinking it is strange looking.

Wow I wish I could take pics like that! What kind of camera and what is your trick? All I have is a 7.1 MP canon PowerShot SD1000 and I get ok pics but nothing like these.
