Let's talk about Flat Worms..ugh..

I have what is a growing population of flatworms in my tank. I am shall we say a "green" reefkeeper and try to avoid chemical remedies if there are natural ones that work. I have alot of Zoa's that I work very hard to keep healthy and happy. But these flat worms are starting to get the better of me.. Everyone has suggest Flat Worm Exit but my concern is what this will do to my lil reef. Does anyone have any experience with flat worms or have suggestion on what I might try. And has anyone had good/bad experience with Flat Worm Exit. I look forward to the help and advice. My tank is fairly new as I just moved and had to give up my 75g I now have a 34g Red Sea Max which I have grown quite fond of, I have around 50lbs of semi live rock and 3 pumps and a built in skimmer and thats pretty much it.. For live stock I have a Pistol Shrimp (Dozer) and his Gobi Guard (Gus). Dozer also doubles an algae lawn mower.. Every nite sounds like a shoot out at the O.K Coral...but its just Dozer cutting down the algea stalks that get in his way..I have seen the Gobi eat any worms that get tossed in the water when Dozer is moving the sand but I have not seen him eat them off the rock on his own.. So he has been ruled out as an efficient FW remover.

I look forward to any advice or suggestion anyone may have.

my first choice would be to get one of these wrasse i was having a nudi problem in my zoo tank and this tore through them like it was his job. ime this is the best wrasse for hunting common pests like nudis, and flatworms.

Ah...do you think the wrasse would eat my pistol shrimp or kill him? Because if it would leave my shrimp and goby alone this might be something I will definately try. Thank you for the suggestion!

I had a flatworm issue in one of my tanks that I fought for over 6 months and dose 4 time at triple strength with flatworm exit and still could not kill them all. So I was talking to my buddy and he mentioned a scooter blenny... Well not beliving it myself, I had nothing to loose. Well in a matter of 3 weeks I had the problem gone with no more chemical issues and the blenny is still in the tank 16 months later and I have NEVER feed him or the tank... He keeps my pods under control now.

mandarin goby and the leopard wrasse did it for me.

Does anyone know if the above mentioned Mandrarin Goby, Leopard Wrasse, Scooter blenny will have any problems with my current residents ...which include my Pistol Shrimp and Goby? I don't want to have a shoot out or shrimp dinner

The mandrarin goby and the scooter blenny won't bother any of your inhabitants but I cannot say for the leopard wrasse. I hope you find something that works for you.
