Level of interest over time?!?

Other things come along. The fish get big and eat the new ones you add. Instead of adding new stuff you are fixing things.

It depends on the season. Winter, I’m full on in the hobby. Spring, summer and fall bring fishing, boating, tomato & pepper gardening for salsa and the occasional trip to the shooting range.

I’ve had fish tanks of some sort my entire 58 years. First SW very early 1980s, first reef 1990, only a short break of some years (4?) after a layoff and subsequent reduced income.

No not ever. When you follow the unique set of rules that gets you your first decade with a given system it gets better every year. By your second decade you're going gray a little and your feet hurt but the reef looks the same as 2006 it gets more fun by the minute. This thing is going into the nursing home with me one day

Lack of enjoyment comes from following the old rules= a few years max then some sort of crash. Knowing what to do to get 20 years is 100% of the fun.

If anyone out there is 25 years old and wants to know how to make your current reef live until you're gray and your feet hurt by wearing the slightest disagreeable shoe send me a message.
