LF advice on in wall build

I have a 5 foot long tank and elected not to provide access from the front. I thought it looked cleaner. I don't regret it - never really needed access from the front.

However, if you do need it then . . . yes . . . doors.

Take a look at Buesking's build

read all the way to page 19. Good thread. I do like the way he did those doors. The frame all the way around the doors and tank. and having wood paneling that matches for the doors. Looks much nicer than having removable drywall panels or something like that.

If you decide to put doors in just make sure to balance it with trim, doors or faux doors underneath. I think the biggest mistake most people make when adding one is not doing something underneath the tank so that focus is drawn to the door. Here is a good example of a balanced look:

Lance, are you going to have access from the back?

yes, there will access from the back. My dad was pretty set on doing something like the picture Smoothdog posted. I think we are going to match the bar cabinet to the wood doors and paneling around the tank.

You could also build the frame and do some kind of magnet panel so there wasnt hinges or handles visible.
