The 3k may not be enough for my tank. I would need more than 2 if I went with them...I think. From what I gathered from other posters is that it maybe a better alternative to the new XF230, more flow but with lesser controller. .

The tidal flow of these pumps is awesome. I have a cp40 (jebao version of the gyre150) and it can move some water! I have 4 total rw8 on each corner of the tank and with only the cp40 on one end and 2 rw8 on the other the cp40 manhandles those rw8 literally. The undertow is really impressive as well.

For me and my rock layout is just a better option I think.

I want a gyre cause the jebao is kinda loud and annoying.

I haven't used mp40s in a while so I don't want to pass judgement on which is better. But I also can't say I wouldn't be opposed to trying 2 mp40s either.
