looking for a Mag 5ish or equivalent for mixing my salt in the Brut can. The maxi jet ive been using just isn't enough. anyone have anything they don't use that could hook a fellow reefer out with? ill be willing to trade corals or cash

thinking more of a pump that can mix, and also pump the water to my sump when hooked up to plumbing that i can disconnect and reconnect , so it has to have some power....

im really lookin at a mag 9.5

Yeah you can't beat a good transfer pump that's for sure. Mag 7 or 9.5 are my favorites. I still use the modded maxijet for mixing though so that I don't have to futz with all the flexible tubing I have on the mag drive

A buddy of mine uses a 3 way ball valve hooked up to his pump on one end, the other to his sump, and the last open. This way instead of turning off the pump once he is ready to move water to the sump, he just changes the valve position to send it over. After seeing his setup in action, I'm thinking of going the same route. "Work smarter not harder"

I have an old velocity T4 that I used to use as my top off. Took a licking and kept on ticking. I also have a brute that is drilled with a bulkhead at the bottom to accommodate the external pump. You are welcome to it, it'd swap the pump and can for the undrilled can. I just like having an additional can around for larger water changes.

Let me know.
