Lf pods

Is there a place locally.... Ft Lauderdale area.... to get live pods to put into my fuge. Want to start building my pod level for fish I want down the road.

I did get chaeto from an up and running tank but no sign of any pods

Pods are hard to see. My chaeto has a bunch if you want some. That said, pod populations wax and wane. If you are not doing anything to build the population it will reach an equilibrium at some point and usually less than we always want. I think feeding them is important if you want to boost things.

This is just an aside story. But I have my a-hole clown in timeout in the sump.
I feed him down there and because of that some food gets into my fuge. Since doing this I've noticed a lot more bugs in there. It may be me, or maybe that extra food in there is fueling their population. You can also look into breeding pods. I think you can feed phyto to boost their numbers. Remember copepods are those TINY specs on the glass. The larger "bugs" although good to have are not "copepods", so look carefully.

Hope this helps.

yeah ive been feeding phyto and the only thing in the fuge is the chaeto its a bare bottom fuge but no signs of pods big or small

some stores have stations of live cultures of pods you can buy by the ounce. Off the top of my head EliteMarine in pompano, Reef Life USA in Boca, Reef Addiction in Boca all have this.

I don't know how good these cultures are, just know that I've seen them. I bought pod packets from algaebarn, feed phyto a couple of times a week, and I see pods all over my glass sand and rocks. Just takes time.

Tigger pods do great in tanks....in my refugium I have tons of them....you can see them swarming like noseems! Most stores now days carry them. I know Exotic Aquatic and Pet World in Davie, and Reef life in Hollywood carry them
