I am looking forward to the powder form coming to the states from europe in the next couple months. Cheaper than the liquid and easy to mix with rodi.

You could, but I would make sure to clean it first to avoid contamination. The magnetic stirrer I bought from Amazon was only $32, but if you have a spare ph lying around, put it to good use.
