LF: Tunze 6105 powerheads, older model.

Hi looking for couple of tunze 6105 older model, ones with no controlller. Pm me please.

I have one that is fairly new and I just put it in service but the thing about the older ones is they have the older cords that get brittle easier. I plan on replacing all my 6105’s in a month or so at which time it will be available for sale.

In case you didn’t know, the built in controller on the newer 6105’s can be defeated and it will work just like the older ones.

Also, if you have all the parts to a 6105, you can buy a new motor block from roger through the Tunze forum here on reef central.

Thanks 556.. yes let me know when u have them available. Pm me with the price ur looking to sell, i need two.

I thought tunze lasts forever lol no worries i might try something different and ditch my tunzes

Lucky for you it broke before I sold it to you.

the early ones had a problem with the center shaft wobble in after not enough years. that's what this one did.

I have couple of 6105 that is about 5yrs old and still going strong..due to an upgrade am looking for two more..how old was yours?

I bought it used so I don't know but I've had it about 3 years.

Why the preference for the older ones? Roger sells replacement motor blocks for under $100, I would replace the large C clips at the same time as the get lose.

If not tunze, then what? I've tried MP40s but don't like the fact you can't point them or stuff hanging on the outside of the tank. Neptune seems good but still can't point. Gyre is a good option but IMO tunze better and that leaves the Jeabo type stuff.

I prefer older ones as i dont like the bulky contorller thats attached to new models.. i am looking into gyre, just worried about the noise.

Just curious but have you checked the impellers on the ones you got. Could be those instead of the power blocks.

I have two 6105 older model ones you're looking for but not ready to say goodbye to them yet. LOL

Yeh i literally cleaned and did everything i could to bring them to work, but no luck..
Stop teasing with your 6105 lol.
