Looks like MIDWEST MARINE in Collinsville is closing.I stopped by there today and the owner of the pet shop next door said he's hanging it up.The place never really recovered from the move to Collinsville its sad to see it close.

As far as the store, as I've said to Chad before, here's the opportunity for Gateway Aquatics East.

I tried talking Chad in to it also. He doesn't agree. Hope someone with some focus and desire takes it over. That place had so much promise. Size, location, easy access and right next to a bar.

I have focus...I have desire! Now all I need is someone to fund me an insane amount of money to cover getting things started up...and my unreasonably large manager's salary (guaranteed one year contract with a percentage of sales).

There is a market for a good LFS somewhere on the IL side of the river. IMO there isn't a single good place to go for various reasons. The last time I was in that particular store there wasn't a price on a single thing in the store. Is there a successful retail business out there that does that? Not that I can think of. Especially when finding out the price makes me want to cringe from the number I hear.
