Re Grab Bag

I'm a newb, albeit an old one, and my tank is just getting going. Most of what I have is probably uninteresting, some shrooms, toads, softies and LPS. I can stop off at LFS and buy a couple of corals, but I think that goes beyond the intent.

I could frag a duncan and maybe a small chunk of a pink acan I have. But I don't know how to frag.

Should I give up my chair at the table?

I'm pretty sure that the grab bag is optional. You don't have to give up anything, you just won't get a grab bag from other reefers. Don't sweat it though... frags will be flying the whole day and there will be some great stuff available to us. There always is!

Can someone point me towards a site with good info about the specifics/differences on clams? I want to make an informed purchase. I don't know about others and size, but I'd rather not have tiny 1" or 2" guys....
