Hello to everyone

I can't find any good lfs around Anderson. Do you know of any around north side of Indy?

Premium aquatics is kind of far from my house, and I went to Muncie, but the stores there are not very good.

Thank you.

The reef sux
Paradise reef is awesome but far away
Extreme aquarium is ok
Uncle bills is expensive
Petland is pretty bad
Petjungle is nice but expensive
The abyss.....bring your mortgage to pay for a frag!

In muncie have you been to G&M and Mr Fish? How are they?

I know it's quite a drive for you, but Inland Aquatics in Terre Haute is always a good place to go. Their fish prices are rather high, but the coral prices are some of the best I've ever found, and they have everything you could imagine. Also, they are very knowledgable and everything they sell is excellent quality.

I think maybe I try the reef and the pet jungle. I don't need more fish, I'm looking for coral (maybe some zoos or sps).

We should have a rating for every store, or some kind of review. In that way everybody can have some idea before they drive everywhere.

I been in Mr. fish (I think they are called Angels N More).
It is a little store, they sell mostly livegoods. They don't have too much coral, and usually if they have something is lps or soft coral. It is kind of anoying that they don't post all the prices in their displays, so you have to ask all the time for prices.
Their prices are ok, but like I say before if you can find the price.
Last time that I went they had very little stock, I was very mad to drive all the way there and find a very empty store.
They have a 250 gallon tank with a lot of stuff, but they did not want to sell anything to me, I guess it is just for show.
Overall I rather drive to Indy than go back there.
But of course that is just my opinion, maybe somebody else has a different view.

So, what about the reef and the other stores?

Safari in Avon just got a large stock of corals, anemones, and fish.
Good service, although a little pricier than other places.

Stock is usually very healthy. I suspect this is in part to their keeping salinity very low (1.12 to 1.15). Keep this in mind when acclimating from there.

They're a full service pet store, they don't specialize in just fish.
Also, the pictures on their website are a little misleading. Those shots are from their previous location over by Best Buy. The new store is smaller.

All in all, they usually have decent livestock and are worth checking out. It's cheaper to get your dry supplies online or elsewhere.

Another place in Avon is Specks, which is a little farther west than Safari. However, Speck's livestock selection is pretty poor, and their tanks need some maintenance. Last year I saw an aiptasia that was at least 6 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter in one of their tanks.
But their dry supplies are cheaper than most places.

If you drive down on Saturday (I think noon to 3pm) you should check out Extreme Aquarium - they have a preety good coral selection. They are remodeling right now so things are in a bit of disarray, but they are open.

I just found "The Reef" in Indy! Love this place. 56th and keystone. Friendly staff and a HUGE selection of corals to choose from. The only thing I did NOT see was a frag tank, so you end up paying atleast $32 for a coral, but it was a good piece! BTW, I got a wonderful 8 lb LR from there the other day that someone had sold them...it is a beautiful piece!

If you like the reef, check out extreme aquarium. I'm not a big fan of the reef as they have lots of aptasia, sick fish and half there corals have coral skeleton's attached to them. JMHO

I'd agree with the people houses and coral, thats where the best deals and healthiest corals come from imo.

that's cool...I will definatly look around before I blow some money! I hear BILLY has some good stuff! I'm gonna get down there soon.

^^^Its pretty disguisting, its gotten pretty bad though. I won't even go there anymore as its not worth the risk of crashing my tank with ick.
