LFS in North Jersey?

You know, it's funny to me. I got into the hobby on LI, and the amount of stores over there would shock you. There are more quality stores on LI than quality plus non-quality in northern NJ. I think after being spoiled with so many stores (and more opening every couple months), I'm a bit of a snob.

I have been to Reef Encounters. It was a decent place, but they didn't have what I went there for, which was annoying.

I actually live closer to Pet Shanty than OG, but after I went in there and they didn't offer RO water, I never went back.

For those who mentioned the livestock conditions at OG, I don't know how long it's been since you were in there, but I specifically looked for that the two times I have been in there since I started the thread, and haven't seen a single dead SW fish.

They just put in a new row of tanks in the center room which the FW fish moved into, and it appears the SW section will extend all the way down the room on the right.

How's the coral selection at Reef Encounters?

I was at Ocean Gallery II last spring and they had a nice selection of Acans frags and some ragged looking zoanthid frags (they were freshly fragged I think).

I'm debating on a road trip to Manhattan Reefs / Unique Corals today. I just would hate to drive over and not find a place to park.

I would love to see a new LFS open. The list of shops no longer around is longer then what is.

They have parking.

Not sure if you are talking about OG or Pet shanty, but Pet shanty offers RO water - I bought it there - as far as OG, I was there on Wednesday & yes there were dead / diseased / flashing fish in almost every tank. It's become a joke amongst my friends - If you go, check out that Achilles near the baby clownfish, if it hasn't died yet. All thing being equal, other than getting in unique species, I'd rather buy from Petco. OG has been around long enough to simply not have their tanks in that condition - I don't have it out for them - just calling like I actually see it. Their display tanks look awesome - I love that Yellow belly Regal & black tang.

Thank you Potsy for the update on parking.

I think I found the mother load!

I picked up a couple acan frags, a gold torch and a couple emerald crabs. There is such a vast selection of various coral and in size ranging from frags to colonies. The prices were very reasonable. I'll be taking the ferry over at the end of a month when I attend an expo at the Javits Center.
