LFS Saltwater for First Tank Fill

My tank gets delivered tomorrow and I plan to spend some time on setup and aquascape.

After that I am just concerned about filling my tank and sump with water for the first timek. 80gal tank and 28gal sump.

I know best method is to get RODI system and make my own saltwater and Rodi for topoffs, but it would take me 3 or 4 days to make enough RODI water for the initial fill...make water then add salt, etc...

After that initial fill I fully plan to have water on hand for water changes and top offs with an RODI system.

Any suggestions for the initial fill? Would you LFS be able to provide me with large amounts of premade saltwater that I could transport in my car?

Please help still newbie. Thank you.

Sorry just to clarify I now LFS have saltwater but how do I get it to my house without buying 10x5gal jugs from LFS.

Do you have an rodi already? I have the brs 75gpd system. It's plenty for an 80 gallon tank. I'd recommend getting an rodi and just letting it fill up a trash can from home depot. (you could just return the trash can when you're done) :D

Thanks Cflow, yes I have the same RODI system 75gpd. I just don't have a water storage tank or trash can yet. Trash can only holds 50gallons and I would need 60 to 70 gallons for tank and sump even with the rock and sand in there.

I just saw some 27 gal storage bins for sale at Costco for less than $7 each. You could use these, then use the bins later for storage.

I bought a coupler and 25 feet of tubing and ran a line from my RO/DI all the way to my tank and fillled it up to check for leaks one more time and then mixed the salt water in the bare tank. My unit was still only a 90 gallon per day unit at the time and it took a little over 2 days days to fill my 210.

If you do that make sure you stay mindful of the water running and don’t overflow.

This is a better idea...
