Lfs screw up yet again

So here we go I walked in to my lfs to get salt water for my 10 gallon tank and had opted to get some Xenia and used about one gallon during the acclimation process. As I went to top off what I had used I get about 2/3 of the gallon back in then I realized my "wonderful" lfs had sold me plain ro water. I do take some of the blame for this I should have checked behind them.

Ok now that I'm done ranting I am going to ask my question: What is the best way to fix my salinity? Should I do a very large water change or top off with salt water until it is back in check, or a little of both?

Ok next I'm sure I'm going to get the standard need pix for help but I will try and word it the best I can. Right now one of my mushrooms mouth is white and scaly, completely no color but it's just the mouth, the rest of the tissue is nice and vibrant green like it always is. Last but not least my candy canes are all closed up, color is good, tissue still looks sort of puffy and it's not releasing from the skeleton. Does any of these sound like a salinity issue?

Ps: Thanks in advance for the help.

the corals cold be reacting to the drop in salinity. how much did it drop?

I would just start topping off with saltwater till you reach your regular levels (depending on how low it is) lowering SG fast isn't as bad as raising the sg fast. you want to raise it slowly about .001 a day

I have seen ricordea do that exact same thing when they come in to the LFS during acclimation. The mouth looks like a little cotton ball. Once they acclimate for about an hour they close right back up. You have some fairly hardy corals so hopefully everything will be fine once the you gradually get your SG up like shifty mentioned.

Yes what is your salinity level? Not sure of decorations in your tank but if your total water volume is around 7 or 8 gls the decrease shouldn't affect the corals. Rather than doing a complete water change I would mix a small amount of salt in a small bucket using aquarium water and if you have a hose and can place the bucket above the tank drip the new water into the tank slowly.

Unless your tank is showing serious signs of trouble, I'd let evaporation get your salinity back to normal level then top off with saltwter to re-fill your tank. My ato has stuck on me a few times and after a few days of evaporation, I was back at 1.026 so all I had to do was add more saltwater.

Just out of curiosity, you were acclimating xenia? I don't think you can kill that stuff. Its like cockroaches....lol

It had dropped about .05 to .07
