On 12/14 I called these people to make sure that they had a reefkeeper lite IN STOCK. The person ensured me that they had plenty. Well today I finally recieved the package and what do you know....it had the heater I ordered but no RKL. I called them immediately and the person informed me that they didn't have any so it was shipping from the dealer. Who knows how long that is going to be. Amazingly though the invoice says shipped 1, 0 backordered for both items. Either this operation is very poorly ran or they are just flat out liars to make sales because if they didn't have it in stock I was going to order from a different site.

I don't care if I get the RKL as early as tomorrow, I will still never give this company business ever again because they lied to me.
 
Finally I find you explanation! You have to keep in mind that it is the Holidays and there are more than the usual amount of orders happening at all e-tailers as usual at this time. Back Orders are the norm for this time of year especially in the Marine Aquarist hobby. But hey, you are evidently new to the hobby judging by your join date. So the only thing I can tell you is if you can't wait for something you want to buy, go to one of your LFS's and have them order it for you; because in this hobby, I can't remember when I never had to wait for a great product that everyone else wanted for their system too. From Skimmers, to Pumps, To Light Systems, to Tanks, I always had to wait... It's part of the hobby. :wave:

Also, you can always cancel your back ordered devices and order elsewhere. :idea:

You called and ask because the RK lite is not in your package. Immediately, I called you back and emailed you the tracking number that it would be delivered next day. Please let me know if you received it, if not please give us a call. Thanks..
 
I think that is great customer service him e-mailing you the tracking number to arrive the next day. They could have backordered it and said you will just have to wait. Instead you mentioned that they had it shipped from the dealer. To me that is great customer service.

Never had anything but a good experience with AquaCave actually went above and beyond to find me a replacement piece for my cal reactor.
 
Yes the person called me back and said it would be delivered today. However, Yes they did lie to me when I called last week and said they had both in stock when that was not the case so since this was my first experience with the company and it was not good I will not be giving them any more business. Good luck to everyone else who orders from them. I'm done with this post so whoever can close it. Thank You.
 
woah, maybe it was in stock....but with a volume of orders at once, the status can change by the minute. Things happen. AquaCave goes above and beyond, I bought my skimmer there, and when i failed to properly assemble the darn thing, the Customer Service walked me through. Just another case of wanting it all right now, at this very moment....and a little foot in mouth too. shame!
 
yeah i would have to agree aquacave has always had topnotch service. and i have to agree that they might have had it in stock when you asked but by the time you ordered they could have already sold out. i think that it shows how good there service really is to have it factory shipped out being on back order for you to get it only 1 day after the original package.

it is the time of year for delays and controllers are usually top on the list of reefers gift list. probably should have thought about that before the bashing. anyway just my opinion.

Things can go out of stock quickly- you are getting the controller one whole entire day later. You say you called on 12/14 and were told they were in stock....when was the actual order placed? Digital Aquatics has a modest price increase coming on the cheapest RKL package, from $99 to $119, so they could be seeling fast.

I don't know what it is about AquaCave that seems to attract the irrational buyers that go on an immediate bash fest over the smallest little thing, or if something does not happen immediately for them.

Im sorry, but if the company was even nearly as bad as some claim, I would have had at least one hiccup or problem in the dozens of orders I have placed with them, including one return. Any time an item is out of stock, I get an email. Packing has been great, orders have not once been botched, and the overall prices are cheaper than most other places.
 
Great customer service again from AC. I gotta give them props for their patience and professionalism!
 
The only thing I dont like about aquacave is the're in Illinois, so i have to pay sales tax......other than that, they have been nothing but helpful and professional
 
i just put in my 2nd order of stuff at aquacave, some test kits, and i was informed that one of the test kit i want was not in stock and offer me another brand, which is a lil more expensive but he work with me, salifert 19.xx elos 27.xx, and all i add is a dollar more, now im just waiting for it to arrive, i never had a problem with their customer service

i highly doubt they had that many RK orders to depleat stock. they lie about this often and they have many many unhappy customers because of it and they also dont contact you when their is a delay, which shows their clear lack in any customer service! oh yea their version of customer service is a call center!

you have not had a hickup because you were contacted about delays!

Just how would you know how many orders they have or have not had? They do not "lie" about this often....it happens to ALL the vendors. The order was placed with the manufacturer- ie dropshipped, and the OP received it the next day.

Even if I was not contacted, I would have definitely cut them some slack when they next day-ed the order for me.

There is nothing wrong with having a legitimate complaint....the ones you see questioned come across as irrational. There are NOT "tons", so stop acting like it is impossible to count the number of bad experiences. They are the very, very small minority. It is usually one compalint, then the same people- like yourself- pile on and keep smashing them.

You are one of the irrational ones. You had a botched order....it happens. You then bashed the company, and acted insulted when they repsponded with what you claim was an insult.... which it was not, especially compared to your posts towards them. Now you have been hovering on this forum for what...about 6 months? You continue to bash them, it is like you are obsessed with them. You have stated your case several times, wouldn't you think it is about time to move on?

still unbelievable, people out there not being patient for not getting their items immediately ordered via internet...well they are internet store and you are not the only person ordering the same ****. Possible scenario is when you talked to the AquaCave CS Rep they look at the system for inventory status but at that very moment other people could have ordered ahead of you for the same item and will immediately depleted the stock....this is the fact about internet business. Be patient just like you do with this hobby or maybe they really don't know the word " patience". Most of my stuffs were ordered from AC and they are topnotch in my book. If you are not happy, go somewhere else but don't badmouth the store

I seriously can't believe some people.

I've easily spent over 5 grand at aquacave since I've been in this hobby. One time they back ordered a single fragging scalpel that I had ordered with a bunch of other merchandise......... ONE TIME.

I still had the thing within 3 days of my order.

You get $5 Shipping on 95% of the items they sell, on top of the very good pricing on the items themselves. Typical companies that offer cheap shipping options like this will not even split shipments. If you order something out of stock they hold the entire order until it's ready for shipment.

Good luck finding any vendor that is willing to bend over backwards to the extent some of you are looking for.
 
it will work out best for aqua cave and its customers if it changes it business practice to charge you when the item ships, instead of eagerly charging your credit card without really knowing for sure if an item is in stock or not. I only used aqua cave once, and my experience is they charged my credit card instantly, only to get an email a few days later that items are not in stock. I just canceled the order and will not use them again. sorry. not worth wasting my time for a few dollar savings on shipping.
