Liars, will never buy from again.

it will work out best for aqua cave and its customers if it changes it business practice to charge you when the item ships, instead of eagerly charging your credit card without really knowing for sure if an item is in stock or not. I only used aqua cave once, and my experience is they charged my credit card instantly, only to get an email a few days later that items are not in stock. I just canceled the order and will not use them again. sorry. not worth wasting my time for a few dollar savings on shipping.

Again, this is another common practice among vendors, AquariumSpecialty is another that does this- at least they have to me in the past. I agree that it would be best to charge when you ship, but maybe their shopping cart system automaticaly does this.

I just ordered a skimmer last night with their new years promotion. The skimmer was out of stock by about a month. I received a call and a differnet skimmer, and was taken care of more than I would have expected.

If you have absolutely no patience whatsoever for the occasional problem, or expect things to go absolutely perfect no matter what the circumstances, then maybe they are not for you...I doubt any company would ever make you happy 100% of the time anyways. If you want excellent prices, with an additional 5% off(sometimes more with holiday promos), cheap or free shipping, a great selection, and good service....then AquaCave is great. They have some of the best prices around even without their promo codes.

When I bought my skimmer, they called and said it was out of stock and upgraded me to the next size up for the same price. Top Notch. They did NOT have to do that for me.

my 2cents

my 2cents

I have ordered from them a few times, twice in the past month. About $1000 worth in the past 6 months. I'll say this, I see some facts that I agree with, some of them are blown out of proportion and in the process the vendor feedback is more than likely lost in the translation.

Considering I have ordered from them twice in the past month that should be enough to say I see value. It's also my wish that Aquacave continue to be successful and to that end, I offer this feedback.

On the positives;

Marketing / Discounting / price (competitive)
Great selection of what many do not carry:dance:
UPS ground shipment thus a real tracking number ( I won't use a vendor that only uses Fedex)

Opportunities
They are not 'fast' shippers, usually inside of 72 hours, acceptable maybe, but not very competitive
Tracking number is inside of a PDF attached to an email "“ not ideal for the mobile user
Tracking numbers are not stored on the website- 'tracking information will not be available through our website'
I too have experience items that I have ordered that are no longer available and back ordered, that processes has caused delays for my entire order.:sad2:

In summary
The positives are enough for me to continue to use them. The opportunities are enough of a problem for me that I can't use them as my primary source for aquatic needs on the internet.

I hope this feedback comes across as balanced as it represents my experiences and current feelings.

My wish list
If Aqua-cove could offer an equivalent to Amazon's 'Prime' membership and execute in the same manor, meaning box ships same day and arrives inside of 72 hours it would be game changer.... That may not be realistic but that's why it's call a wish....
