I was wondering if there is a lid or something to help limit the evaporation on my 6 gal tank???

or do i have to build one myself?? if so.....with what and how??

I've always had quarter inch thick glass cut for my tank then plasti-wrap around where the hoses come in. May not be the best for the fish but beats adding 2 gal every day.

However glass is known for blocking out a lot of light so I'm now looking for a new top idea also. I'm thinking 8th inch thick glass right under the lights and 1/4 inch where I need to set stuff on top of the tank. I'm going to be calling glass stores up in the springs and see if they sell special (greenhouse?) glass that lets more light through, then have them custom cut it.

Originally I thought I'd use very think flexible plastic (since it allows all light through). But plastic warps. If you want to try this the only place I saw in town was target.... they sell picture frames that come with a big super thin plastic cover that could be cut to size. You might also give the plastic depot a call.

Just stuff for ya to think about.
