Life-Bearer...organophosphate?

An interesting issue occurred today, I recently took over a 2200 gallon FOWLR that was in dismal condition....after 60 days of beating it back into shape, new fish were added (yes, they were quarantined) and ich/fluke (no distinction yet) was reported by an employee who therefore took it upon himself to treat the the aquarium w/Aquarium Products Life-Bearer w/o consulting with me first...You can't undo what's been done, the employee normally a good listener and pays good attention to detail chronicled the treatment in which approximately 1/2 oz (dosages are 1 drop per gallon, so if anything it was an underdose) via video...interestingly, the ich/flukes can literally be seen falling off and the infected fish color and vibrancy coming back within a few minutes...I have limited knowledge of this product but do know it was an older treatment before "safer" products were developed...Anyone ever had experience with this product in a marine aquarium...? We plan on doing a 25% water change tmrw...as a footnote, an hour after the aquarium had been treated add 25lb bag of carbon and leave the skimmers running...so far the mgr of the restaurant hasn't called and we're assuming everythings ok...Please feel free to post your inputs w/this product or other organophosphates....:celeb1:

I have full reef tanks, and wouldn't risk that.

However, I did use prazipro for flukes in the tank, and while the effected fish's symptoms did go away, there was no way I could see the flukes falling off. In fact this is the first time I have ever heard of anyone seeing them falling off.

you sound skeptical Todd....purple light might be relevant factor to relieving your skepticallness.....but my thread was based on organophosphates and any relevant info anyone @ Team RC or on the forum might have.....thanks for any info

as a footnote after the initial treatment w/the organophosphate (Live-Bearer), I took a look @ the aquarium the following morning and the fish although unlively were still feeding...i did a 25% water change, pulled out all the filters, removed the carbon and turned off the protein skimmers while leaving the sand-based filter running and proceeding w/a naphtoquinone (Ich Attack) treatment...i'll continue this for another 3 days to pick up the stragglers....

as a 2nd footnote, i spoke w/a fish vet friend on his opinion of the organophosphate dose and his reply was..."if it's banned in Denmark and California it's prob not going to be good for you as a person (which was another worry on top of the inverts and the epaullete shark)...." well, you can learn the hard way but i have the distinct feeling i got lucky....

thanks all....
