PLEASE tell us what fairy wrasses you had that lived 5-10 yrs!

Yeah I'd say 5 years is tops. My lubbocks lasted that long. Towards the end he looked very old, worn out, and eventually lost some if not all his vision.

From what I've been reading about fairy wrasses is that terminal males live only a little over 2 years. Unfortunately, the terminal stage is when they are the best looking.

I love hearing stories about how long some of you have had your fish, very cool! The longest I ever had a fish was about 9 years. It was a tang, and it died after an 8 hour move from Southern to Northern California. Like I said in my OP, I now have mostly fairy wrasses and I sure hope I can keep them for many years to come. I wasn't aware of their relatively short lifespan until recently.

My Rd's Onyx clowns have been with me for almost 10 years,(around August of this year will be 10).
My Regal Angel and my Tomini Tang have been in my care since Nov of 07, so, 6.5 years?

Although not the fairy wrasse variety, I've had my melanarus wrassse going on 7 years now.

My gold bar maroon is over 15 years old. I've had him for 8 years and the person I got him from had him for 8 years.

Yellow Watchman Goby is 10 Years old I my care and shows his age. His buddy the Tiger shrimp is 2 Years.
